The Democratic Republic of the Congo is a country traumatized by decades of civil conflict. Coffee has come to represent a significant opportunity for economic regeneration and social impact. To help reignite the coffee industry in Kivu, the Kawa Kabuya Coffee Cooperative was established in 2010 to support coffee producers and is key to ensuring the flow of revenue back to the country. Increased income for farmers will mean greater investment in improving coffee yields and quality, helping to drive prices to more sustainable levels.

An ethical coffee with a lively acidity. Vanilla, citrus, tropical fruit flavours with notes of toffee and caramel. Rich body and well-balanced. All coffee beans on the farm are processed using the honey and natural methods. Both of these methods require a lot more work and care than the traditional fully washed. However, it all makes sense when you taste the resulting coffee in the cup. By experimenting with different techniques, the farm has been able to perfect both methods so as to obtain distinct coffee with sweetness, cocoa and fruit notes, and without a trace of over-ferment.
